Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has appealed to United States President Donald Trump and the international community to pay close attention to the political situation in Osun State ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
In a public statement, Davido expressed concern over reports of rising tension in the state as the election approaches. He warned that there were growing fears of possible violence, intimidation and disruption of the democratic process, stressing that such developments could undermine public confidence in the election.
Addressing President Trump directly, the singer said he was drawing international attention to the situation because the people of Osun State deserve to participate in the election without fear or coercion.
