Hon Thomas Victor Onwubiko Celebrates Fathers on Father’s Day, Commends Their Role in Building Society

The Lagos State House of Assembly candidate for Amuwo Odofin Constituency, Hon. Thomas Victor Onwubiko, has congratulated fathers across the constituency and Nigeria on the occasion of Father’s Day, describing them as indispensable pillars of the family and key architects of a peaceful and progressive society.

In a Father’s Day message released on Sunday, the frontline politician paid tribute to fathers for their unwavering commitment, sacrifices, and dedication to the welfare of their families despite the prevailing economic and social challenges facing the country.

Onwubiko noted that Father’s Day provides an opportunity to celebrate the invaluable contributions of fathers and father figures who continue to nurture, guide, and inspire future generations through exemplary leadership and selfless service.

According to him, fathers play a vital role in shaping the moral values, discipline, and character of children, thereby contributing significantly to the development of responsible citizens and a more stable society.

“Today, I join millions of Nigerians in celebrating our fathers, whose sacrifices, hard work, and commitment continue to strengthen our homes and communities. Fathers remain the backbone of every stable family, providing leadership, protection, guidance, and hope for future generations,” Onwubiko said.

He stressed that beyond providing for their families financially, fathers are mentors and role models whose influence helps shape the future of society through the values they instill in their children.

The House of Assembly hopeful commended fathers in Amuwo Odofin for their resilience and determination in ensuring that their families continue to thrive despite the nation’s economic difficulties. He acknowledged the countless fathers who make daily sacrifices to provide quality education, healthcare, shelter, and opportunities for their children.

Onwubiko also recognized the efforts of single fathers, guardians, and other father figures who have assumed parental responsibilities with dedication and compassion, describing their commitment as worthy of admiration and appreciation.

He called on fathers to continue promoting peace, unity, discipline, and mutual respect within their homes and communities, noting that strong family values remain essential to tackling many of the social challenges confronting the nation.

According to him, the collective efforts of responsible fathers are critical to reducing youth crime, promoting educational excellence, and fostering community development.

“As fathers continue to build strong families, they are also building a stronger society. Every responsible father contributes immensely to nation-building by raising children who become productive and responsible citizens,” he added.

Onwubiko further urged government at all levels to implement policies that strengthen family welfare, improve economic opportunities, create jobs, and provide an enabling environment that allows parents to adequately care for their families.

He reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Amuwo Odofin Constituency, pledging to continue advocating policies and programmes that will improve the standard of living of residents, empower youths and women, promote quality education, strengthen healthcare delivery, and accelerate infrastructural development across the constituency.

The Lagos Assembly candidate assured constituents that, if elected, he would pursue people-oriented legislation that prioritizes family welfare, youth empowerment, economic growth, and sustainable community development.

He also appealed to residents to remain united and continue supporting initiatives aimed at fostering peace, security, and inclusive development within the constituency.

While wishing all fathers a joyful and memorable Father’s Day celebration, Onwubiko prayed for God’s continued blessings, good health, wisdom, and strength upon them as they continue to discharge their responsibilities to their families and society.

He concluded by encouraging fathers never to relent in their commitment to raising children with integrity, patriotism, and compassion, noting that the future of Lagos State and Nigeria depends largely on the quality of leadership provided within the family.
