E-Money Delivers on ₦50m Promise as Carter Efe Defeats Portable at Chaos in the Ring 4

Lagos businessman and socialite Emeka Okonkwo, popularly known as E-Money, has confirmed that he will honour his ₦50 million pledge to social media comedian Carter Efe following the latter’s emphatic victory over street-hop artiste Habeeb Badmus, widely known as Portable, at the highly anticipated Chaos in the Ring 4 event.

The celebrity boxing showdown, which took place on Friday night at the Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, drew a large audience and lived up to its billing as an entertainment spectacle that blended sports, music, and celebrity culture. The bout between Carter Efe and Portable had been one of the most talked-about matchups leading into the event, fueled by weeks of intense verbal exchanges and public taunts.

At the conclusion of the fight, E-Money reaffirmed his financial commitment in front of the crowd after being prompted by Ezekiel Adamu, Chief Executive Officer of Balmoral Group Promotions. Standing by his earlier promise, E-Money congratulated Carter Efe on his performance and victory, stating unequivocally that the ₦50 million reward would be delivered.

“You know we put our money where our mouth is. Congratulations, Carter, on your win. ₦50 million for you,” he declared, drawing applause from spectators and further cementing the celebratory mood of the evening.

Adamu, in his remarks, expressed satisfaction with the overall success of the event, noting that Chaos in the Ring 4 had fulfilled its promise of delivering thrilling and engaging fights. He commended both the fighters and the organisers for creating a memorable experience for fans, adding that even bigger events are being planned in the future.

“We promised chaos in the ring, and we have delivered entertaining fights tonight. There is more to come. Thanks to everyone who made this a success and to the fighters for their great display,” he said.

The headline bout between Carter Efe and Portable was the climax of a month-long rivalry that had captivated fans across social media platforms. Portable, known for his energetic persona and previous victories in celebrity boxing contests, entered the fight with confidence. He had earlier defeated Charles Okocha and Speed Darlington in similar exhibition bouts, earning two belts and building a reputation as a formidable competitor in the celebrity boxing circuit.

Ahead of the match, Portable made bold claims about extending his winning streak, openly declaring his intention to secure a third belt at Carter Efe’s expense. He referenced his previous wins and asserted his dominance, suggesting that his opponent would be no different.

Carter Efe, however, remained unfazed by the bravado. The comedian, known for his humour and viral content, responded with quiet confidence, predicting a swift end to the fight and warning that a single decisive punch could determine the outcome.

When the two men finally stepped into the ring, the contrast in their fighting styles became immediately evident. Portable came out aggressively, throwing wide, unpredictable punches in an attempt to overwhelm his opponent early. His approach was energetic but lacked precision, as he frequently swung wildly and struggled to land clean hits.

Carter Efe, by comparison, adopted a more composed and strategic approach. Leveraging his height advantage, he maintained distance and delivered calculated uppercuts and body shots. His technique and timing allowed him to control the pace of the fight, gradually asserting dominance as the rounds progressed.

As the bout moved into the second and third rounds, Portable continued his aggressive but erratic style, often resorting to clinching in an attempt to disrupt Carter Efe’s rhythm. However, Efe’s consistency and accuracy proved decisive. He landed a series of clean combinations that clearly set him apart, leaving little doubt in the minds of both the judges and the audience.

At the end of the contest, all three judges scored the fight 27–30 in favour of Carter Efe, awarding him a unanimous decision victory and the celebrity boxing crown. The result marked a significant moment in the ongoing evolution of celebrity boxing in Nigeria, highlighting the growing intersection between entertainment and sports.

Beyond the headline fight, the event also featured high-stakes professional bouts that added further credibility to the night. In the co-main event, Godday Appah emerged as the new WBO Africa cruiserweight champion after defeating Ezra Arenyeka via split decision. The fight had been symbolically framed as a “WBO Peace Fight,” representing unity between the Itsekiri and Ijaw communities in the Niger Delta, adding a deeper social dimension to the contest.

In another major bout, Basit Adebayo secured the WBO Africa title with a unanimous decision victory over former WABU champion Loren Japhet, further showcasing the depth of talent on display during the event.

The success of Chaos in the Ring 4 underscores the increasing popularity of hybrid sporting events that combine celebrity appeal with competitive boxing. For Carter Efe, the victory represents not only a personal triumph but also a lucrative reward, with E-Money’s ₦50 million pledge adding a significant financial incentive to his achievement.

As fans continue to celebrate the outcome, the event has set a new benchmark for entertainment-driven boxing in Nigeria, with organisers and participants alike already hinting at even bigger spectacles in the future.
