The House of Assembly candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for Amuwo Odofin Constituency II, Hon. Thomas Victor Onwubiko (TVO), has extended warm greetings to residents of the constituency as they begin the month of August, calling on them to remain hopeful, united and committed to the progress of their communities.
In a goodwill message made available to journalists on Friday, Onwubiko thanked the people of Amuwo Odofin Constituency II for their continued support, prayers and encouragement, describing the new month as a period of renewed hope, fresh opportunities and collective advancement.
“I warmly welcome all our people to the month of August. I thank God for preserving our lives and granting us the grace to witness another new month. May this month bring peace, good health, prosperity and greater opportunities to every family in Amuwo Odofin Constituency II,” he said.
The NDC candidate urged residents not to lose faith despite the economic and social challenges confronting many households, assuring them that a better future remains possible through purposeful leadership, unity and active civic participation.
According to him, the growth and development of Amuwo Odofin Constituency II require the collective efforts of youths, women, artisans, traders, professionals and community leaders working together for the common good.
“Our constituency has enormous potential, and together we can build a stronger, more prosperous and more inclusive Amuwo Odofin. I encourage our people to remain united, peaceful and committed to the progress of our communities,” Onwubiko stated.
He reiterated his commitment to people-centred representation and pledged that, if elected into the Lagos State House of Assembly, he would prioritise youth empowerment, quality education, improved healthcare, infrastructure development, security and economic opportunities for residents across the constituency.
“My aspiration is driven by a sincere desire to serve our people with integrity, transparency and accountability. I remain committed to being a voice for the people and to pursuing policies that will improve the welfare of our constituents,” he said.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Onwubiko called on residents to remain politically conscious and participate actively in the democratic process by coming out to vote peacefully and responsibly when the time comes.
“Democracy thrives when citizens participate. I urge our people to remain engaged, informed and committed to the democratic process. Elections provide an opportunity for the people to choose leaders who genuinely understand their needs and are prepared to work for the common good,” he said.
He described the 2027 elections as an important moment for the constituency and for Lagos State, stressing that citizens should not become apathetic about issues affecting their future.
“The 2027 elections will be a defining moment for our constituency and our state. Let us remain committed to peace, unity and responsible participation as we work together to shape the future we desire for Amuwo Odofin,” Onwubiko added.
The NDC candidate also encouraged residents to support the party’s vision of good governance, accountability and people-oriented leadership, noting that meaningful development can only be achieved through leaders who are accessible, responsive and dedicated to public service.
He further appealed to political supporters across party lines to avoid violence, hate speech and divisive politics, urging everyone to embrace peaceful engagement and issue-based campaigns as preparations for the elections intensify.
Onwubiko concluded by praying for peace, progress and prosperity in Amuwo Odofin Constituency II and across Lagos State.
“May this new month bring renewed strength to our youths, blessings to our families, success to our businesses and peace to our communities. Together, we can build the Amuwo Odofin Constituency II of our dreams.
