A social media commentator, popularly known as Justice Crack, has criticised Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, over what he described as a contradiction between the governor’s policy on school graduation ceremonies in the state and his personal actions.
In a post shared on social media, the commentator questioned the governor’s decision to prohibit graduation ceremonies in Anambra schools while reportedly travelling to London to attend the graduation of his daughter.
According to Justice Crack, the development raises concerns about consistency in leadership and the example being set by public office holders.
“So, the Governor of Anambra State banned school graduation ceremonies in the state, yet travelled abroad to attend his own child’s graduation. Isn’t that shameful?” he wrote.
The social media critic argued that public officials should demonstrate confidence in the institutions and policies they oversee, maintaining that leaders lose moral authority when their personal choices appear to contradict the standards they expect citizens to follow.
Describing the situation as one that Nigerians should carefully examine, he said the issue goes beyond a single policy decision and reflects a broader pattern among political office holders.
“This is the kind of leadership Nigerians should question,” he stated.
Justice Crack further alleged that many senior government officials routinely avoid using the very public services they are responsible for managing, citing the education, health and tourism sectors as examples.
According to him, it is difficult for citizens to have confidence in public institutions when those entrusted with improving them appear to seek alternatives outside the country.
“We have a country where the Minister of Education’s children are not schooling in Nigeria, the Minister of Health does not use Nigerian hospitals, and the Minister of Tourism goes to Dubai to see tourist attractions,” he wrote.
The commentator maintained that such actions send conflicting signals to Nigerians and undermine public confidence in government policies and institutions.
“How can leaders expect Nigerians to believe in the systems they supervise when they don’t trust those same systems themselves?” he asked.
Justice Crack concluded his remarks with the statement, “Justice can never be cracked.”
The comments have generated discussions on social media, with users expressing differing views on the governor’s education policy and the broader issue of public officials patronising foreign institutions and services. While some supported the commentator’s position, others argued that the governor’s attendance at a private family event should not necessarily be equated with government policy on school ceremonies in Anambra State.
Neither Governor Soludo nor the Anambra State Government had responded to the remarks at the time of filing this report.
