Master Chimdiebube Onwubiko, one of Nigeria’s brightest young academic talents, received a rousing reception upon his arrival at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, following his outstanding performance at the Grand Finale of the International STEM Olympiad held in Rome, Italy.
The young prodigy returned home to cheers and applause after winning a Gold Medal in Mathematics and a Silver Medal in Science, a remarkable feat that has earned him national and international recognition while further showcasing Nigeria’s immense academic potential on the global stage.

The atmosphere at the airport was filled with excitement as the crowd applauded the brilliant student, who proudly flew Nigeria’s flag among contestants from more than 50 countries, many of which boast some of the world’s most advanced education systems.
Chimdiebube was among three outstanding Nigerian students sponsored to represent the country at the prestigious international competition by education advocate and Chief Executive Officer of Educare, Alex Onyia.

In the Primary Category, Master Egejurum Onyedikachi Ethan emerged as the World’s Best in Primary Mathematics after winning a Gold Medal.
In the Senior Secondary Category, Don Anele Munachimso produced another exceptional performance by winning two Gold Medals—one in Mathematics and another in Science.

Chimdiebube completed Nigeria’s impressive medal haul by clinching Gold in Mathematics and Silver in Science in the Junior Secondary Category, further cementing the country’s reputation for producing exceptionally gifted young scholars.
Together, the three students returned home with four Gold Medals and one Silver Medal, an achievement widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s finest performances at an international STEM competition.
