Soludo Joins Ebonyi Endorsement Rally, Backs Tinubu and Calls for Progressive Unity

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo of Anambra State has declared strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, joining a major endorsement rally in Ebonyi State that brought together political leaders, supporters, and stakeholders in a display of inter-party cooperation and national unity.

The event, held in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, attracted a large crowd of supporters and marked a significant moment in the growing collaboration among political actors who identify with progressive ideals across the country.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Soludo described his participation as a solidarity visit aimed at demonstrating support for both the government of Ebonyi State and the administration of President Tinubu.

The Anambra governor emphasized the importance of cooperation among progressive leaders in advancing national development and ensuring political stability.

Standing beside his host, the Governor of Ebonyi State, Soludo spoke warmly of the relationship between both leaders and praised the efforts being made to promote development in the Southeast and across Nigeria.

“I am here on a solidarity march with my own brother, the Governor of Ebonyi State, who, by the grace of God, is governor until 2031,” Soludo said, drawing applause from supporters at the rally.

The governor noted that political leaders must increasingly prioritize collaboration over division if the country is to overcome its challenges and achieve sustainable growth.

According to him, the endorsement rally represented more than a political gathering; it symbolized a growing commitment among progressives to work together in pursuit of shared national goals.

Soludo, who leads Anambra State under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), stressed that political parties and leaders must begin to look beyond partisan boundaries and focus on issues that promote national development and prosperity.

He explained that his presence at the rally was informed by the need to support efforts aimed at strengthening progressive governance and ensuring continuity in the implementation of policies that could benefit Nigerians.

“I am here in solidarity with you because today, you are endorsing the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” he stated.

“I have come in solidarity because progressives are working together. It is time for progressives to unite.”

The governor acknowledged that Nigeria is currently facing significant economic and social challenges but expressed confidence that the country is on a path toward recovery under the present administration.

He maintained that difficult reforms often require patience and collective sacrifice, adding that the government deserves support as it works to address longstanding structural issues affecting the economy.

According to Soludo, the foundation being laid by the current administration has the potential to create long-term benefits for future generations if sustained and properly implemented.

He disclosed that APGA would, in due course, deliberate internally on its political direction and formalize its position regarding national political developments.

The ultimate objective, he said, should be the consolidation of a broad progressive alliance capable of advancing development-oriented policies and ensuring continuity in governance.

Observers at the rally interpreted the remarks as an indication of increasing political cooperation between APGA and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly on issues relating to governance and national development.

One of the most notable aspects of Soludo’s speech was his message to the people of the Southeast, particularly the Igbo community.

In a passionate appeal, the governor urged Ndi Igbo to embrace a new political strategy centered on partnership, engagement, and constructive participation in national affairs.

He argued that the time had come for the region to move beyond what he described as a politics of complaints and exclusion and instead pursue opportunities that would foster economic growth and political relevance.

“I say to my fellow Ndi Igbo, enough of the politics of lamentations,” Soludo declared.

“We must now move from the alliance of protest to the alliance for progress—an alliance and partnership for prosperity for Ndi Igbo.”

The governor emphasized that meaningful development can only be achieved through active participation and strategic alliances that advance the interests of the region within the broader Nigerian federation.

He further urged the people of the Southeast to remain united and avoid political divisions that could weaken their collective influence in national affairs.

“We must now unite as Ndi Igbo. We must not waste our votes again,” he said.

The statement drew enthusiastic reactions from supporters at the rally, many of whom viewed the message as a call for a more pragmatic and development-focused approach to politics in the region.

Political analysts have described Soludo’s appearance at the endorsement rally as a significant development in the evolving political landscape of the Southeast, particularly as political alignments ahead of future elections continue to take shape.

The event concluded with renewed expressions of support for President Tinubu and a collective commitment among participants to work towards national unity, economic growth, and political stability.

For many attendees, the rally served as a platform not only for endorsing the President but also for reinforcing the message that cooperation among progressive leaders remains essential to achieving a more prosperous and united Nigeria.
