2027: Nigeria Could Face Serious Crisis If Tinubu Loses, Primate Ayodele Predicts
The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that Nigeria could experience widespread violence, political unrest and heightened ethnic tensions if President Bola Tinubu loses the 2027 presidential election.

The cleric warned that the potential consequences of such an outcome could be severe and that the country might require considerable time to recover from the resulting crisis.

Ayodele’s prediction was contained in a statement issued by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, in which he expressed concerns about how the President and his supporters might respond to an electoral defeat.

According to the cleric, Tinubu and members of his political camp appear confident of securing a second term, a situation he suggested could make a defeat particularly difficult for them to accept.

“If Tinubu loses this election, there will be so many crises, and it will take a long time to settle down; it will be an unimaginable manifestation because he believes he will win already. If he loses the election, it will be bloody because a lot of politicians will go into oblivion,” Ayodele said.

He further predicted that attempts could be made to prevent the announcement of election results, potentially creating tensions and threatening political stability.

The cleric also raised the possibility of ethnic conflict following the election, while questioning whether Tinubu would readily accept defeat and transfer power peacefully to the eventual winner.

“There will be several attempts to stop the announcement of results. The election can cause an ethnic crisis; it will take time for him to decide if he will release power or not,” he stated.

Ayodele’s comments come as political parties and potential candidates begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 general election, which is expected to be a major test of public confidence in the Tinubu administration.

The cleric also expressed doubts about the electoral prospects of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), arguing that the party’s confidence in its political strength should not be mistaken for a guaranteed victory.

He maintained that the ruling party’s position in the forthcoming election was uncertain, despite what he described as the confidence of its leaders.

“APC victory is shaking, but they don’t believe anyone can defeat them, and Tinubu doesn’t see beyond the Presidency,” Ayodele said.

He added that a defeat for Tinubu could have far-reaching political consequences, affecting the fortunes of politicians aligned with the President and potentially influencing the country’s electoral system.

“A lot of people will cry if he loses the election. It will be unbelievable and painful to so many. If Tinubu loses the election, it can change the electoral process in Nigeria,” he added.

Ayodele’s remarks are predictions attributed to the cleric and do not establish that violence, ethnic conflict or attempts to obstruct the announcement of results will occur. The conduct of the 2027 election and the reactions of political actors will depend on events and decisions yet to unfold.
